Introduction
In this informational writing I´ll be talking about weapons and battles. For
example, the King Philip's war was one of the battles. I hope you enjoy:)

Weapons
First, I’ll talk about the weapons in colonial times. A lot of people used
muskets with a bayonet, but they were known as a brown bess. A lot of
people had iconically used them in the revolutionary war. Not everyone
thought that brown bess was the best. Indians used tomahawks and bow
and arrows because they thought that they were faster to move around.
This was known as mobility because it was lighter, so they could run
faster. The British used heavy armor like steel chest plates. It was hard to
run with it because it was very heavy. The British also used cannons, and
similar to the Spanish, they used swords for easy combat because they
just had to slash people with it. If they got slashed they would need to
get medical help right away.

Battles in Colonial Times

The Land Right Wars
The British and the Indians did not get along. Next, I’ll be talking about
battles. Battles were common events in colonial times, but today wars are
not as common. There were a lot of major wars. First, I’ll talk about land
right wars. Just for land, I know, that’s kind of weird. They killed each
landowner to take the land. That was a example of a short war.

The Pequot War
Now I’ll talk about the serious wars. For example, the Pequot War which
started in 1634 and ended in 1638. The Pequot War was a major battle
which occurred between the British and Indians. It started when they
killed a British trader because there whole tribe got kidnapped. In the war
over 600 Pequot Indians were killed in a half an hour. Think about how
many Indians got killed over the 4 year war.

The King Philip’s War
Next, I'll talk about the King Philip's war which started on June 20, 1675
and ended on April 12, 1678. Over 3,000 American Indians were killed.

The French and Indian War
Another war that happened was the French and Indian war. This war was
over American land. The French were taking over all the land until the
American Indians came into the war which had started in 1754. The
French used cannons and muskets and the Indians used bow and arrows
and machetes. Some Indians used muskets too. The Indians won and it
was a big success for the Indians and their country. This was a huge war
that happened there is more you can learn from if you want for yourself to
learn more search up French and Indian War.

Bacon’s Rebellion
Next, I’ll talk about Bacon's Rebellion. It started as an armed rebellion in
1676 by Virginia settlers, led by Nathaniel Bacon, against governor
William Berkeley. Instead of waiting, he took it into his own hands and he
made the rebellion to rebel against the British and to fight for their
freedom.

The Battle Of Bunker Hill
Next I’ll talk about Bunker Hill. The war happened in Charlestown,
Massachusetts. You might think that it was a small battle or a bunker from
world war two with Germany, but no, it was a war between Boston and
the British. They were mad at each other. The British wanted to fight
against Boston because in colonial days there were lots of major events.
For example, the Boston Massacre or the Boston Tea Party resulted with
British being mad. They wanted pay back on Boston so they fought a long
rough war which resulted with the outcome of the British winning.

Anglo Powhatan War
At this point you guys probably think that colonial times was brutal and it
was. It had lot of brutal wars. Another war was the Anglo Powhatan war
which started in 1610 and ended in 1646. The war went on for 36 years.
It started with the Jamestown settlement.  After they made guns to get
ready for the war they made muskets and steel swords. In the near end
the war was freezing and brutal.

Yamasee War
Another war was the Yamasee war in 1715. The Mohawk Tribe fought
against the British and it lasted for a year. The Indians hated the British,
before the war they farmed food and killed cows for meat to get ready.
They did this because if they got cold they would have resources to eat
and keep them warm and not starving. Along with that they made bread
and stew.

Conclusion

In conclusion, colonial times battles were long and rough, and they had to
work hard to get ready. I think I wouldn't want to be in the colonial times
because you would have to go through long wars and you would be
scared. How about you??
