The History of the Marines

The history of the US Marines is very interesting. The US
Marines are considered a part of the US Navy but it is also
considered a separate branch of the US military. The

US Marines was founded by Samuel Nicholas in 1776.

After the Revolutionary War in April 1783, the Marines were
disbanded. They were reconnected in 1798. In 2011, there
were around 240,000 troops who are either active or in
reserve.

The U.S. Marines and the the U.S. Army are similar and
different.  Both the Army and the Marines are a part of
the U.S. armed forces. They are both organized into
platoons. Each group contains 1 radio soldier and 1
medic. One difference is that the Army is based on land
and the Marines are based at sea. Another difference is
that the Marines work with the Navy. One final difference
is that the Army has around 1.2 million soldiers active or
in reserve and the Marines have about 240,000 soldiers
active or in reserve. That is how the U.S. Army and the
U.S. Marines are alike and different.    

A Problem for the Marines

The U.S. Marines have a problem. The problem is they
have a shortage of ships to train troops on. One solution
is they could make more ships. For instance, in 2024 the
Marines say they will have two more vessels. Another
solution is that the U.S. Marines could do virtual training.
The consequences of using virtual training is it will stop
the U.S. Marines from having access to do the training
they used to be able to do. One other solution is they can
use smaller boats or piers to train on. Those are some
possible solutions to solve the problem.
