Stitches
Written By Chase Malia
Outside it was dark, cold and, snowy and I was sinking in my fuzzy couch. My sister was upstairs and all I did is stare at my parents clean, clean, clean. And that’s almost all they had to do for the Christmas party. I started to fill with joy. And I started jumping all over my house! I started thinking about all the presents I would get.
As I stared at my parents I was starting to wonder when everyone would arrive at my house. And I said to myself “are they ever going to get here.” I knew I had to be patient but I couldn’t and I shouted “I just want my presents!”
I started falling off my couch and I began to sink, sink, sinkto the bottom of the floor like an anchor sinking to the bottom of the sea I layed on the floor happy but tired.Behind the couch was a noise coming from the door.
Ding!Dong!Ding!Dong! They were finally here.
I knew the party had to be good or else there would be councaquentses. I was surprised that my sister came down the stairs like a rocket crashing in space.
The food was out and the food was as hot as lava.We began to load out the presents from the car. There were about 19 cars at my house and 30 presents standing at the christmas tree like a statue. They were waiting at the tree waiting to be opened.I had to keep my eyes peeled my eyes were glued to the presents.
I ate, everyone ate I, talked everyone talked.I began thinking of all the presents there was.And I said to myself “ what's inside the boxes?”
Chase,Chase my parents bellowed.I got called to take a photo with everyone. 3,2,1 cheese everyone shouted! After we took the picture music started blasting out radio.
“Hey, what's everyone doing over their?” I asked. It was a dance party! I wanted to join the fun so that's exactly what I did.I began spinning and twirling. It was the moment it happened. The wind blew strong it was the night that changed my life.I slammed my eye on the corner of the table!
Tears of sadness rolled down my pale check. My parents rushed me down to the emergency room at the hospital. When I got there the doctor laid me on a table to check out my eye.As soon as that was done the doctor reported back to my parents and the Doctor said I had to get stitches in my eye.My parents were so surprised that they couldn't believe it.
I knew I would have to be brave. So I squeezed my shoulders back against the table. The doctor gave me a ball and told me to eat it so I did as soon as I put the ball in my mouth I guess it was medicine after a long time I fell asleep I wonder if the medicine did this I said.
I woke up and could not open my right eye.I felt upset and disappointed of myself.I rolled off the table and slowly started walking up to my car. My right eye did hurt a little.Once I got in the car I sat down.
I sat in the car with a drowsy look on my face. After a long ride home I tumbled to the door opened the door and took off my shoes. I sat near the christmas tree with a sad, sad look on my face.I felt like presents would cheer me up but not enough.I was glad everyone was still here.
Tears started streaming down my cheek.I knew I was fine but I did not feel completely fine. But then I remembered what I have been through.I finally felt happy because I remembered how brave I was when I got stitches and I just felt proud of myself. I started unwrapping a present I was not happy but I remembered I waited a year for these presents so now I was happy.
