Introduction
In colonial times everything was different compared to now. Schools Can you believe
that Schools were So small compared to know . Lost schools are large buildings with
many rooms. Slavery was common among a lot of African Americans . Many laws
were very unfair compared to now. And the revolutionary war was going on also. I will
be teaching you all about colonial times and they way colonist lived!

In colonial school girls and boys did not engage in school activities. it was a school
policy for boys and girls not go to school and learn the same thing. Boys went to
schools for two reasons , sometimes boys went to school to become a priest or they
would learn arithmetic, reading, writing, poems,and prayers .

Most boys school days started around 7:00 A.M . The male teacher , they served
breakfast at 9:00 A.M and had lots of breaks during the day and then they served
dinner from 2:00 P.M to 5:00 P.M . Boys studied a lot of things we might not
studied until 9th grade ! they have studied Greek , Latin , celestial, Navigation,
Geography , history , fencing , social etiquette , and plantation . In my opinion I think
that the Should of not had to learn all the unnecessary things like Greek, and Latin.
They should of had a separate school to teach you that because . Most people learn
Spanish or French in school But maybe they learned it. Because that was the main
language? Many of the boys that went their were wealthy and went to boarding
school Most girls didn't go to school. Girls were normally at home sowing , cooking ,
cleaning , and dyeing clothes . Or some girls went to dame school where the learned
manners when you are in dame school it was at home and a mentor that would teach
you manners . Boys and girls were to star school at the age of 12 and they
stopped at 15! when a boy was to turn 16 he would go to college and girls would not
stop “ school” the dame school they would stop. The women's jobs would to keep
cooking and cleaning and taking care of household needs . Boys had a lot more
privileges the could actually learn while most girl did lot even know how to read!
But on occasion boy would not go to they would stay at home and help in the farm.
This makes me realize that boys got more freedom than girls.

Now in days every race color is accepted . Black, white, Hispanic , Asian you name it.

and black schools were quite different from each other . In school since most people lived in
towns there were enough people to support public schools . Families and friends helped
supply school with firewood,money,food, produce, and fish .The kids families that could not
supply the schools had to sit in the way back so the could barely feel heat . that makes me
think what if I was a kid in colonial times without a lot of money I be sad or would it be
normal ? The schools were not big it was a house with 1 room and a out house in the
backyard .White children got fine books with looks of pages they had lots of books on shelves
and had plenty of paper with a desk and a chair.Black children had almost the same
environment but it was quite different. They had no heat in their classrooms and not a lot of
books or paper. Not a lot of black kids went to schools their parents had to pay for there
freedom.And they did not get payed a lot of money.so they would have to save and save their
money so they could get there kids in to school.There were maybe 5 to 2 kids in a black
school.The black and white kids did not go to the same schools that was against the law back
then they had black only schools or they had white only school or white only bathrooms and
only black bathrooms. That was called segregation

Native American men and white men the college was founded on February 8th,1693 under
royal charter . They college was named after King William the III and Mary II. The college is

Slavery
I wonder where the slaves came from? So I looked and researched, and I found out
most slaves came from West Africa . Slavery started in 1619. Most slaves were
captured or arrested for filthy crimes . Which Most of the slaves did not commit the
were framed because the color of their skin . When the Slaves were captured they
were sold as and then the slaves would work on plantations . Some people traded
slaves And other people bought them.In my opinion i think that is just terrible getting
abused by people being a having to be a segment of money that us just disgusting
and slavery should of been abolished many many years ago years ago. There was a
shorted of slaves because the all keep killing themselves because they thought they
would return to Africa . So children of color were kidnapped and instead of being
killed they were whipped with canes and whips. The slaves wanted freedom so bad .
That there was another shorted and the slaves were walking off planks hanging
themselves trying their best to killing themselves . The slaves went wild and they
started killing the people that captured them and soon the were all trying to kill each
other . Slavery isn't a law anymore and and glad there isn't Slavery because it is racist
and unfair.

could drink at any age . There were many ridiculous Laws for example . colonist had no right
to vote for a president and especial women couldn't vote . Men were allowed to vote in
1869-1920 Non-white men stared voting when slavery was abolished.Women started voting
when the women's right movement Started more and more people were protesting to let
women vote and do the jobs men do and there became a law that everyone can vote over the
age of 18. Then there was the Stamp act , the Stamp act of 1765 was the first internal
tax levied directly on American by the British government . The Americans were Fighting
with the british because the british was making Americans pay the british taxes this lasted
about 7 years . Another ridiculous law was you were to marry at 20 and you could not get a
divorce and in my opinion i think that is very idiotic law that should of never been a thing
because you can't spend the rest of your life with someone you hate I would of broke the law
sooner or later.would you ?

Tory vs. Rebel
The Revolutionary war was a big part of colonial times the American and British were
fighting among each other.The Americans that had moved for a better life moved to America
while some stayed in Britain . But the king of England still was there king . And the king
made the Americans pay British taxes some of the people were fine with paying taxes they
did it all there live. But somewhere furious and thought that they would not have to pay taxes
because they moved to a new country. So the war started it was not good many colonist were
killed by Rebels because they would not give them food , water , and weapons . They British
did the same to the colonist so they were no better.A lot of the Rebels called the British
lobsterbacks for an insult.Americans wanted freedom from the king and they would try to
ambush Tories. Tories were Another word for British But when the people were to ambush a
lot of them were killed not many were to. accomplish a ambush . They Rebels and Tories had
fought 3 ties and the last time they fought the Rebels won and the war was over . Now we
live peacefully with no war. 
Conclusion
Colonial times was tough for a lot of people who lived in it.Schools were so different in my
opinion I think girls and boys should of went to school together. And also Slavery should've
not been A thing that Should of been Abolished many years ago in my opinion compared to
now laws and taxes are different and we have our own system. I wonder if the war never
happened. What do you think we would be doing know.
