It was a sunny October day in 2017. I was  in my bedroom at my house in
Connecticut. It was a special day because my brother, Julian, had  downloaded
the game Fortnite. After two days of watching him play, I knew what to do to
play the game. It was finally  my turn to play. I was really excited to play the
game for the first time!

The first time I dropped from the airbus, I landed in Salty Springs. Luckily
for me it was season 1 so everyone was not that good at the game. When I
landed, I got a bush and a “green” pump action from a chest. That was
common. I took it and equipped it.

Then I decided to be a bush camper. I waited patiently and saw people who
just walked by. They didn't think I was an enemy. When the online player
walked by me, I  jumped out from the bush and I eliminated him. I didn’t see
anyone else throughout the whole game until there were only 5 people left. I
still hid in the bush that I used since I landed. I waited for the other people
to die in the storm.

The storm was really big until two people died in it.  There were only three people
left, including me. I got really really happy that I got that far in my first
game. I was the second to last person to be alive in the game. I killed him.  I
had two kills. When I was done killing that guy, the other guy shot me. One
time that I had 60 shield and 100 health and then the guy followed me. I
took out my bolt action when I didn't even know I had it out. I thought it
without even knowing I had it out and I hit him for 223 damage in the head.  

I rushed with excitement when I killed him and then I got really happy. I
screamed and called my mom and I screamed for my brother to come
downstairs. “I can’t believe I just won Fortnite when it was my first time
playing!”

“Nice!” my mom said, smiling.

“Cool!” my brother said, in the middle of my sentence. He couldn’t believe I
had accomplished this after only one try.

I realized that though I was inexperienced, I had learned a lot by watching
my brother play, which in the end helped me achieve something I hadn’t
thought possible!
