THE TIME I COULD NOT GET A PUPPY

I was getting ready to come back home from the supermarket, it was a
hot summer day.  Me and my dad were getting in the car from the
supermarket.

Suddenly my dad said, “Let’s go to the puppy store,” as he was driving and  
playing music. I was a little bit nervous because I'm scared about them
jumping on me.  “Do not worry sweetie they are in a glass, they can’t jump
on you.” Then I got excited when he was driving.  “Why is it so cold in
here?” I asked my dad.  He didn’t answer, he was too busy listening to
music.

“We are here!”dad said.  “Yay!” I shouted.

l ran really fast to get in the store. I was so excited so I jumped with
happiness so that I could see the puppies. My dad was walking slow,
really slow.  Suddenly we were in the store. I was surprised to see the
puppies! I heard dogs barking all around me.

“Hi” said the store manager, “welcome, I hope you enjoy the
puppies.”  I looked at everything that dogs need for their life, like
a chew toy. Suddenly I saw the two puppies I wanted.  The first one
was barking so cute and licking the walls and when I first saw him I
couldn't see his eyes just its mouth and his tongue.  The second one
was with its chew toy, it was asleep. It was brown too just like the
other puppy. They were two of the same dog laying on top of each
other.  “Can I get the two puppies?” I said. “No, because you are not
ready” said dad. “Can I get one please” I asked. “No maybe in a pet
shelter but not a store.” I feel so sad that I could not get the puppy
because my dad said no.  I wish I could get the puppy.

“So let’s get back in the car,” said dad.  I will always remember the
puppy in the store.  I decided to not be scared of puppies jumping on
me.
