My day rock climbing

Though Jack's clock said 12:00 in shiny red numbers,
he was in the middle of a nightmare. Jack broke the
silence of his sleep with a grunt. In his dream, he
stared at the wall full of rocks and colors. It was
mesmerizing. The wall became taller and taller. He
shook his head and kept going.
Eventually, he rang the bell at the top of the wall. Its
ding felt like a golden fire on a winter day. Jack sat on the
ledge and watched adults gasp when they fell. His blonde
hair flew in the breeze. Luke his rope holder, yelled “Are
you ready to come down yet?”
Jack yelled back down “Yup!”. He walked off the edge.
The air felt good on his face, until he hit the ground. Pain
shot through him, he heard a crash. I broke all my bones
Jack thought.
BEEP BEEP! Jack woke up to the sound of his alarm.
Crash! He got out of bed and flew down the stairs to the
smell of pancakes.I am not going rock climbing ever, Jack
thought. I’m going to fall of the edge!
The smell of pancakes filled the air. Jack thought, mom is probably trying to put me in a good mood to “talk.” His rocket pajamas slapped the stairs.
“Stop running!” mom yelled. Jacks voice was gravelly.
“Okay!” he managed. Jack’s heart slowed, and when he
entered the kitchen, a pancake was stuck to the ceiling.
When it dropped, moms wrist flicked, the pancake landed
perfectly on the spatula.
“Want some pancakes?’’ mom asked
“Yes please!”Jack answered.
He scarfed down a pancake.
“You ready to go rock climbing?” mom asked.
“I don't want to!” shouted Jack.
“This is not an argument, Jack!”
Jack furiously ate his pancakes and stormed off. Then
Jack got on the school bus and went to school.
Jack's soft blonde hair could not fight against the
smell of cafeteria food.Today was chicken surprise day.
Lucky I brought lunch, Jack thought.
”I can’t believe you have to go rock climbing!” James,
Jack’s best friend shouted.
“l know right!?” Jack replied. James freckles flashed like
the rocks in his dream.”l have to, even if I don't want to!”
he shouted over the loud sound of screaming. At the end
of the day,  he got ready to go rock climbing.
Jack was greeted with a harsh stream of warm air. It's
been cold for a while, Jack thought.”Do we have to do
this?” asked Jack.
Of course!” said Jacks mom.
They walk for a little longer and came to a lady behind a
desk. “Welcome to the New York rock wall, how may I help
you?”asked the lady.
“Uhhh,we would like to hook my son,Jack, up with an
instructor.”
“I’ll ask our kindest instructor.”Then she walked into
another room.
When she came out, she was with a girl wearing a harness
and her hair up in a bun. She smiled,
“Hi! I’m Katy, what’s your name?”
“I’m uhhh, Jack!” he replied, speaking louder than he
meant to.
“Let’s get you suited up!”she said enthusiastically. First
they got him in a harness. It had a water pouch. Jack
thought that was cool. “Would you like to  wear rock
climbing shoes?”asked Katy
“No, I'm fine.”Jack said
Then they came to a rock wall.
“Well,go ahead!”Katy said
“Alright!?”Jack replied. He stepped on the first rock, then
he leveled with the wall.He reached for the next rock. He
kept going and he got to the ledge and took a swig of
water. His throat was dry like sand. His mom had put a big,
juicy lemon in his water. He put the water in his pouch and
kept climbing .
A little later, he was so close to the top he could
almost feel it. Just then,Katy yelled “Shuffle to the red
rock next to you!” He didn’t know what to do, so he
reached across and missed the rock. Now he was dangling
by one arm. I'm dead meat, Jack thought.
Suddenly, Jack heard the craziest thing.
”Let go!” Jack didn't seem to argue. Then, he dropped.
But instead of being street meat,he landed safe on the
ground.   Then when he was fully on the ground, Jack
thought, I should really face my fears.
“I told you there was nothing to be afraid of!” Jack's mom
said. Then they just laughed.

The end
