D.A.R.E. Essay

Did you know that 75,000 people die due to alcohol
related deaths? In this essay you will learn about what
I learned in all the DARE classes I took this year. I
learned about bullying, drugs, and I learned about the
DARE decision making model for hard situations.

If I were to report a bully scene at school I would
report it to a teacher or the principal. It would make
me a good citizen because it would help the person
that is being bullied. Also, the bully might not be
mean to anyone anymore and will learn his or her
lesson.

I have learned that in DARE there is a decision
making model. Isn't that fascinating? I can use the
decision making model when I am in tough situations.
In DARE class in the decision making model you have
to take some risk sometimes. The steps are define,
asses, respond and evaluate. You can use this model
when friends are fighting. It would help me because
I will make a good decision after assessing everything.

I had no clue what different kind of drugs there
were. I even did not know that nicotine was in drugs
and cigarettes. I had no clue they caused health
problems. One kind of drug is tobacco. It is the most
deadliest drug in the world. It leads to lung cancer.
Another drug is marijuana. It gives you mouth cancer,
respiratory problems and memory loss.

DARE has taught me a lot this year and I hope to learn
more. In DARE I learned about drugs, bullying and
resistance strategies.
