Introduction:
In this informational piece I am going to be talking about a day in the life
in colonial times.There is a lot of stuff people did in colonial times. In this

Where did slaves come from?
Slaves were captured in Africa and brought by boat to the colonies.
The first slaves arrived in Virginia in 1619 and some slaves were in
South Carolina.

Some slaves worked in the fields and they lived in shacks right near the fields.
The shacks were very small,but they had lots of privacy.The slaves only had
one pair of clothes and that lasted them a year. Slaves were legal back then.

Slaves were treated different. All of the slaves were treated differently. Some

What did people in colonial time hunt for?
The people in colonial times could not go out and buy food at a store. They
had to hunt for food. They mostly hunted for deer, geese, and rabbits.

What did colonist drink?

Colonist drank water and milk mostly. If you were sick you would drink
water or if you were an adult you would drink a gallon of milk.Instead the
colonists drank cider, beer, and tea. Even the kids drank watered down cider
and beer.

For breakfast some of them would eat a bowl of porridge. At lunch you would
eat some meat, bread,and vegetables. For dinner they would eat meat stew or

What were the jobs in the colonial times?
There were a lot of jobs back in colonial times.Some of the jobs
during the colonial times were a cobbler, gunsmith, printer, tailor,
and wigmaker. They had many different jobs.These were hard
because back then they didn't have the tools and technology that
we have today.

The wig makers made a lot of different kinds of wigs.There were a lot of
different styles. There were white wigs that weren't colored. The wigs looked

In conclusion,The colonial time was different and harder than today.It was
different for many reasons like slavery,hunting for all your food and doing jobs
without tools that we have today. These are just some of the facts detailing
