Introduction

From the Seven Years’ War to the first Continental Congress there
were many causes of the American Revolution. It all began with a conflict
over land claims in the New World.  Taxation and rebellion became common
during the years that followed, causing colonists to unite against Great
Britain. All of this eventually led to another major war in America’s history,
known as the American Revolution.

7 years war / French and Indian
War

After the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus, a lot of nations
wanted some land, most notably the French and the British. The British
had some nice land, also known as the 13 colonies and a bit of Canada, while
the French controlled almost all of North America with strong allies
notably the Spanish who also controlled a lot of land, like almost all of
South America and Mexico. Of course, there would be land disputes.
There was a bit of land next to the 13 colonies that both the French and
the British both said was theirs. The French decided  to make some forts
along the disputed area, so the British sent in a young George Washington
In 1756 with some men and a couple Native Americans to take the hill. The
French didn't realize they were coming, so they surrendered quickly. and
to make the situation even worse a Native American killed the general
leading the French defenders. Then the French declared war on the British
and then the Spanish joined the French and most Native Americans joined
the French. It looked as if the British would lose but they didn't, they
actually won the war at the treaty of Paris in 1763. The British gained a
lot of land like almost getting all of Canada for themselves, also getting
Florida and the disputed land that started the war. But the war wasn't free.

Britain's Check for the war

Britain did win the 7 years war but it came at a cost, the cost of
$300,000. The British did not have that money so their plan was to
tax the colonies, especially the 13 colonies in America. They started
on just taxing tea but they then started to tax all necessary things
for life like, oil and lead. The Stamp Act is where they would
tax all types of paper, from playing cards to news papers.
Understandably the colonists got pretty mad so they stopped buying
from the British. This was the last straw for the British, so they
made not buying from the British illegal. Historians think this because
the British still needed money and also to assert their control over
the colonies. Thomas Jefferson said once. ¨Our properties within our
own territories shall not be taxed or regulated by any power on earth
but our own¨. It's at this point that many got really mad at this, and
so people started coming up with their on ideas especially a sernit
John Adams in Boston who came up with ideas that the people don't
need to serve  under the British, and so he started a group known as
the Sons Of Liberty.

Trouble in Boston

Its March, 5, 1770 and a couple of Redcoats have angered a bunch of
Massachusetts colonists, now the rebels have just started throwing things.
But how did this happen well you gotta look back like 20 minutes.  A couple
of young fellers just came outside they were, Edward Archbald, William
Merchant, Francis Archbald, and John Leech Jr. They all separated at a
corner. Archbald and Merchant went down a alyay to a bearick wear some
British were staying. The British were horsing around and than stabbed
either Archbald or Merchant. then people started to get mad and then
they started to throw snowballs at the Redcoats. Than people started to
ramp it up to start throwing ice and than rocks. Until the British Soldiers
had enough of it and than shoot the protesters. Crispus Attucks a black man
was shot right the beginning, and that shot killed him, this may have been
done because he has black and back then white people were racist. Samuel
Maverick only 17 years old was also shoot also at the beginning. Finally he
have  James Cadwell who was also 17 years old and these are just the first
people to die . The trial against the British soldiers as noted from a HPO
2008 mini series John Adams called the Soldiers murders during a riot.
The six soldiers left out uncharged.

The Boston tea party took place on December, 6, 1773. It had taken
a while but Samuel Adams but they finally were going to attack the
British head on, they would attack the British tea supplies. But
before that we need some explaining. Samuel Adams hated the
British and there relentless taxing  of the colonies so he made rebel
group called the sons of liberty. They would really just sit there and
say they hate the British. That's until they came up with the amazing
idea to throw some tea into the harbor. So the day come in December
they all started to dress up as Native Americans and than they
headed out. They all snuck on the ship and started throw the tea
strait into the Boston harbor. A crowd started to form around the
docks as they watched all the tea come plummeting down into the
ocean. Historians think that the British were disgusted by this
treason, so they started to tax the colonies more heavily.

The First Continental Congress

Its 1774 and a bunch of delegates from the 13 colonies (all
except Georgia witch right now was fighting a Native American
uprising witch they needed British support to win) meet up in a
building in Philadelphia are now going to talk about the taxing of
the colonies and the hostilities in Massachusetts. They all
met up, and it was a mixed bag of people some people wanted

to stay with the British and let Boston Burn while others like
George Washington and Samuel Adams wanted to fight back
against the British. In the end the First continental congress
did do some things like getting rid of the east indies companies
who were giving supplies to the British.

Conclusion

All these causes of the Revolution from the British taxing tea to the
Boston tea party the 7 years war and the Continental Congress and the
Boston massacre are most known for being the contributors to the
American Revolution. But were there more causes for the American
Revolution, could there be causes even before the colonial time period?
