D.A.R.E. Essay

Introduction
Did you know that over 75,000 deaths a year are caused by alcohol?
Well I learned that in D.A.R.E. .Those are just some of the things I
learned. D.A.R.E. is really helpful in these ways to learn things
because it helps you steer clear of  becoming one of the drug users,
that might be dying because of the use of the drugs.

What I have learned (the body)

I have learned in D.A.R.E. is that drugs and smoking are very bad for
you and the environment. I learned some skills too, they help with
stress and pressure. Like speaking in front of a crowd. You can look
over the tops of their heads and they will not notice. We learned some
more skills like that.

I plan to use the D.A.R.E. decision model in stressful situations. A
stressful situation would be if your friend asked you to come to a
lacrosse game with her but you need to finish your very important
science project. I have already used in situations that I did not want
to get in trouble in, but then I used it and decided to “come clean”.
This is what the D.A.R.E. Decision Making Model looks like:

D-Define Describe the problem, challenge, or
opportunity

A-Assess What are your choices

R-Respond Make a choice. Use the facts and
information you have gathered

E-Evaluate Review your decision, did you make a
good choice?

How I plan to use what I have learned to make safe and responsible
choices, is to always no matter what situation, is  to use the D.A.R.E.
Decision Making Model. I will also always talk to my parents
(or whoever is with me a adult or babysitter) to make sure I can do
what I was planning to do. I will also steer clear of drugs, smoking,
alcohol,etc.

Conclusion
So in conclusion D.A.R.E. is really helpful to learn new things and with the
D.A.R.E. Decision Making Model, I can do things the safe way and the easier
way.Easier way meaning I will not get addicted because the result will be
my life getting messed up, and there would not be a high chance of fixing
it. In D.A.R.E. I have learned it is better not to get involved with things
like: drinking, smoking  (firsthand and secondhand ), and get mixed with
drug users. Also I should walk away if people offer me things that involve
drugs or any kind of smoking. This was really nice to learn. But one of my
favorite parts of D.A.R.E. was how nice Officer Tibbles was helping us
understand every single little thing that we needed to know and always
would go back if someone did not finish

D.A.R.E. Forever!
