Different, But Okay

Moving can be hard,

I know because I have before,

Memories are things that you keep forever,

I wish I was in Nebraska right now,

With my friends at my old school,

Missing things is okay,

But it is hard,

One things I remember was how close I was to people,

I wish that I could see my old friends’ faces,

I wish that I could sleep in my old room tonight,

Letting the birds wake me up in the spring,

Having my old dog back,

Going to the park and waterpark,

Being in the hot sun,

Playing under my old maple tree,

Catching the helicopters that flew down on me,

Being where I love and miss.

Making new friends,

Going to a cool new school,

Getting a new adorable dog,

Going to the beach for the first time in my life,

Exploring new places,

Visiting Nebraska,

Hiking in this forest,

Knowing lots of people,

And being a part of this community,

The size is different,

Super small from where I come from,

But I like this in a different way,

Change is good,

I am still trying to understand it though,

I like my new house,

I still keep lots of memories,

Looking back at my old life every night in bed,

Sad,

But okay,

Wishing that I could be in both places at once,

Having a happy ending wherever my path takes me.
