The Crayola Factory

Grandma had her hands behind her back. She said,
“Guess what? We are going to Crayola!” I screamed,
“yay! Yes!” I rushed to get dressed. In this essay, you will
learn about the playground and the show at Crayola.
Also in this essay you will learn how they make crayons.
Did you know that Crayola is the most colorful place in
the whole U.S.?

The playground is fun! There are hard plastic animals
that you can draw on. These are in the middle of the
playground. Next is my favorite, the slide is dark blue and it
is really dark inside. It is a tube slide that is dark and fast.
When you go down it is really, really fast. The slide is really
crowded, so you have to wait a long time but it is worth it.
Also in the playground you can draw on the floor with chalk.
You have to wear socks so you do not get chalk on you feet.
I drew a heart. One time I was at the playground at Crayola.
The playground was really loud and busy because it was a
Monday. I was with Grandma and Poppy. The slide is really
really dark. There is so much to climb and jump off of. There
is a tube you can crawl through. You can draw on the floor
with chalk. There is lots of screaming and shouting. I went
down the slide and got rug burn. I said, “Owwwwww!”

The show is cool! There is a number screen that shows
how many crayons they have made right now.  The
number got up to 6,000 something. First they pour hot
melted wax on a tray, then they scrape it, so it gets in the
holes. Next they pop them out of the tray and put them in
another machine. This machine puts the labels on the
crayons. At the end of the show everyone gets a crayon!

At Crayola, you can make your own crayon. First you get
your token. Next you pick what color you want. Then you
go to that machine. You get to design your own label. I
had a peace sign on mine and the crayon was named
Felicia. Then you can bring your new crayon home!

I hope you now know how to make your own crayons at
Crayola. When you color with the crayons in your crayon
bin you now know how these crayons were made! So
make sure to go to Crayola and get your tickets soon.
Have a colorful time!
