Those Shoes:

A Story about Friendship

In my life i am fortunate enough to have great friends. and we
don’t judge them by what kind of clothes they have . In the book
Those Shoes, Jeremy and his new friend Antonio don’t judge each
other by their clothes either. Jeremy and Antonio are great
friends because Jeremy is generous to Antonio, because Jeremy
and Antonio have so much in common, and most of all, because
they play together.

One reason that Jeremy and Antonio are great friends is
because Jeremy is very kind to Antonio. For example, Jeremy
was being kind by not laughing at Antonio when he had torn up
shoes. In the book it says, “During math I glanced at Antonio’s
shoes. One of them is taped up, and his feet look smaller than
mine.” That is one example why Jeremy is being kind to Antonio!

Another example why Jeremy is kind to Antonio is because he
gave Antonio the shoes he really wanted when he knew he
couldn’t wear them. He left them on his doorstep and ran
because he knew Antonio would know that Jeremy gave him the
shoes anyway .This is another example why Jeremy is kind to
Antonio! My last example of why Jeremy is generous to Antonio
is because he does not leave him alone while he is playing
basketball.  He goes to the park to shoot some hoops with him,
which proves he is very kind to Antonio. This was my last example
why Jeremy is generous to Antonio!

My second reason why Antonio and Jeremy are great friends is
because they have so much in common. For example Jeremy and
Antonio both need new shoes, and they both want the same
shoes. In the book it says, ‘’I have dreams about those shoes,
black high tops with two white stripes’’. That shows that they
have some things in common. That is my first example why
Jeremy and Antonio have so much in common!  To add on a example
why I think Jeremy and Antonio are great friends is because
they both like to go to the park and play basketball with each
other. For example, Antonio went to go play basketball in the
park and then Jeremy came to the park also because he also
felt that he wanted to play basketball just like Antonio. That is
my second example why I think Jeremy and Antonio have so
much in common! My last example why I think Jeremy and
Antonio have so much in common is because they also love to play
kickball. They play kickball at recess instead of in the park  
because they can play kickball together at recess with all of
their other friends too. That is my final example why I think
Jeremy and Antonio have so much in common!

My final reason why I think Jeremy and Antonio are great
friends is because they like to play together, and great friends
should like to play with each other! For example, at the end of
the day they have races through the snow. In the book it says,
“I smile and give him a nudge... let’s race!” That is one example
of Jeremy and Antonio are great friends. My second example
why I think Jeremy and Antonio are great friends because they
like to play with each other is because they have play dates at
Jeremy‘s house. And from the book I can tell they were having
fun. That is my second example why I think Jeremy and Antonio
like to play with each other. My very last example why I think
Jeremy and Antonio are great friends because they like to play
with each other is because they play a game in school where
they count how many times people get up to go to the bathroom
just to walk around in their new shoes. That proves they like to
play with each other. Those are all of my examples why I think
Jeremy and Antonio are great friends because they like to play
with each other!

I know Jeremy and Antonio are great friends because they are
kind to each other, they have so much in common and most of all
because they play with each other. Those are all the qualities I
would look for in a good friend!
