The Eastern Chipmunk

Versus

The Eastern Gray Squirrel



The Eastern chipmunk and the Eastern gray
squirrel are alike and different. Both
chipmunks and squirrels are in the sciuridae
family. Chipmunks and squirrels are related to
tree squirrels, ground squirrels, marmots
woodchucks ,flying squirrels and prairie dogs.
One difference from eastern chipmunks and
eastern gray squirrel  is size. The Eastern
chipmunk is a length between 8 and 10 inches
long and the eastern gray squirrel can grow up
to 20 inches long. The weight of the Eastern
chipmunk and Eastern gray squirrel are also
different. The Eastern chipmunk  can weigh
from 2 to 5 ounces in weight but squirrels can
weigh up to 1 and 1/2 lbs. That is how Eastern
gray squirrels and Eastern chipmunks are
similar and different.
