Making S’mores

“Crunch crunch,” the grocery bags dropped onto the floor.
My sister, grandpa, grandma and I just returned from
Walmart. We were making s'mores and it was my first time.
I was in Hatfield Pennsylvania and I was with my sister
and my grandparents and it was my second time being
without my parents. I love spending time with my
grandparents but I was sad since my parents were not there.

I walked over to the marshmallow bag and took out one
marshmallow. It was as white as vanilla ice cream. I
decided not to put chocolate on my s'more since I do not
like chocolate.

I walked to the countertop and grabbed a skewer my
grandpa brought from down stairs. I got my marshmallow
and put the skewer into the marshmallow. As I walked to
the stove I said to my grandpa, ”can you help me please?”
My grandpa said “yes.” I was so excited to make my first
s'more ever and I could hardly wait.

A little while later we both held the marshmallow over
the stove. I started to see some of the side turn black as
coal. My grandpa told me to turn the marshmallow. When it
comes to doing stuff my grandparents get strict. After we
did that on all the sides we took it off the stove and my
grandpa turned the stove off. I walked to the table and
my grandpa helped me put the marshmallow onto the graham
cracker. He took both graham crackers and grabbed the
marshmallow off the skewer. I looked at my s'more and
I could not wait to eat it! I took a bit of my s'more and
it tasted so good. It was delicious!

It was so tasty andI felt so happy to have my first s'more
ever. It was soft and crunchy at the same time. The
marshmallow was hot and the graham cracker was medium
temperature. I touched the marshmallow and it was sticky.

My grandma took a picture of me eating it so that my
parents could see. As I covered my leftover s'more for
tomorrow I said to myself, that was fun.

I felt so full from eating one and a half of my s'mores.
I really hope to make more s'mores with my grandparents
soon. I will always remember making s'mores with my
grandparents!
