           Tea overboard!!!!!!
In this book you will learn about one of the most historic
events in united states history chapters are the plan, tea
overboard, the stamp act, and finally after the Boston
Tea Party. Let's get started

          The Boston Tea Party
               The Plan
The Boston tea party is one of the most famous  events in American
history it happened December 16, 1773. the reason they threw 342
chest of tea overboard. Is because of the tea taxes the British were
taxing us for tea it they were charging too much money and we did not
want to pay these taxes because they were too expensive many colonists
thought it was illegal to tax that much money . The colonists battle cry was
no taxation without representation is tyranny. and we did not have
enough money to pay this taxes  so a big group of men decided to take
charge of this problem they would have meetings at taverns like the green
dragon tavern one of the men who would host the meetings was
Samuel Adams even though he did not like the taste of tea he still fought
for lower tea taxes so the people of the thirteen colonies did not have to
pay  the high tea taxes they planed to sneak onto the boats at the Boston
harbor and throw the tea overboard so that the British loses all that
money worth of tea to strike them back for taxing the u.s. for tea that's
why we threw the Boston tea party we got them when they least expected
it to come at them.

             Tea overboard
The way they threw the Boston tea party we dressed as Indians so we
looked like slaves helping deliver the tea so they did not get shot because
back then slaves would do jobs for slave owners so they thought that the
Americans were slaves who were being forced to deliver the tea but when
they were in the Boston harbor they threw the tea overboard the British
were not prepared for the tea to be thrown overboard by who they
thought were slaves so the Thirteen colonies got them when they were not
prepared for the attack we got them by surprise when they least expected
it to come for them.

           The Stamp Act
The stamp act stated that if you find any stamped letters you burn it and
if you see a British officer you can tar and feather them they would pour
hot tar on them and throw feathers on you the hot tar would make you
dance like a chicken and look like a chicken because of the feathers.
During the stamp act clients boycott buying British goods the daughters of
liberty would make things we need like clothes he men would get food and
other things we need to live.

     The men who started it
I think that one of the men Samuel Adams could  of been president. some
of the men who were in on the Boston tea party where John Adams who
helped start  the Stamp Act, John was a rising young lawyer
at the time of the Boston tea party and was a future president of the
Thirteen Colonies . Samuel Adams was also one of the men planing the
Boston tea party and he did not even like the taste of tea but he did it for
the people of the thirteen colonies . After the Boston tea party nobody
wanted tea anymore everyone wanted coffee it was cheaper and everyone
liked the taste better then the taste of tea so they decided to drink
coffee instead of tea s the British got 342 chest of tea so they lost all
that money worth of tea and everyone started drinking coffee instead so
they lost tons of money and couldn't do anything about it s we really hit
them where it hurts. John Hancock was a part of the Boston tea party the
stamp act stopped because we did not need the stamp act any more so
John Hancock lit fireworks at his mansion to celebrate the end of the
Stamp Act and the end the Boston Tea Party.

In conclusion still today the Boston tea party is one of the most historic
and famous  events in united states of America history.

AUDITIONING

One day I was watching TV when my mom told me about
an audition opportunity at Joel Barlow High School and the
play was Les Misérables. I had no idea what Les Mis was.
I researched it and the story is about a man who is
released from prison and gets in trouble by stealing money
and the law tries to put him back in jail.  In the meantime,
he becomes a guardian to little Cosette. I was going to be
auditioning for the part of little Cosette. My mom said,
“Sky, do you want to try out?” “That sounds awesome,
Mom, when is it?” I said. “It’s in a week, should we sign
up?” Mom said. “Yes!” I said. That Monday, I got the
sheet music from the office at school. That night I came
home and practiced the song Castle on a Cloud. I
practiced four more times after that.

A couple days later it was the audition. On the drive I
was very happy! “Good luck, Sky!’’ My mom yelled as I
walked into the room. The judges knew that I was
auditioning for little Cosette because she is the only
female child part. I flashed back to the last time I had a
auditioned it was for home for the holidays. It was fun. I
knew I would do great in the audition! I was soooo
excited!!! I was standing on a stage as soon as the
recording started, I began to sing. Towards the end of the
song, one of the judges paused the music, and turned it
back on late and it messed up my singing. I was a little
mad but brushed it off so I could finish.  I sang in front of
a bunch of judges and the director named Diana. All the
judges liked my voice, after I sang. I was nervous
because I didn’t know if I got the part.

I waited, waited, and waited. It must of been one week!
Finally, Mrs. Keating told my mom I got the part of little
Cosette. It was exciting. My mom said “Good job Sky, I
think you did great!”

Adopting My Kittens

When I woke up on a Saturday morning, excitement rushed through
me.My parents told me we will be picking up a surprise that day. I
knew the surprise was gonna be good. After  we got in the car, my
mom told me the place that we would be going is a tiny bit far.To
make it even longer, my dad said he had to get groceries. When we
FINALLY got to the place, I didn't  even know where I was. But when
we walked into the building, the sour smell of wet animals hit me.I
saw dog bones, mouse toys, and feather toys. That's when it hit me.
We were in a Animal Shelter.

It was my first time ever in a Shelter.I thought to myself,”why are we
here?”,Then I was told that we would take home TWO kittens. I
stopped.I gasped.

”Really?” I exclaimed,”We are taking home two kittens”? “Yes,we
are.” mom replied.

The only pets that I ever had was goldfish years ago.A nice lady led
me, my mom, and my dad to a room. It was a small room, but in that
room, was a crate with a litter of four little kittens. One was a Tabby
cat, two were Calico cats, and the last one had spots. They felt like
balls of fluff, or pom poms. They showed their affection to us by
purring, and rubbing on us.My parents wanted the Tabby cat, and one
of the calico cats. I did too. The lady put those two in a carrier, then
she put the other two back into the crate. My heart sank for them. I
wanted all of them to get a home. But later that day, another family
adopted the other kittens, so they all got a home.
We went into another room and a lady taught us how to clip their
nails, and brush them, because they would shed soon.

Now we could go home.My dad drove, and me and my mom sat in
the back with the cats. My sister, Leyli, was at a ski trip with her
friends in Vermont, so she couldn't see them. My mom FaceTimed
her, and showed her the cats. She was so happy, that she started to
cry tears of joy, on the ski lift! By the time we got home, I had so
many missed texts from Leyli, requesting pictures of the cats.I sent
picture after picture, non stop for Leyli. Pictures of them sleeping,
and pictures of them playing.I spent the rest of the day upstairs,
playing and cuddling with them, then over FaceTime, me and Leyli
decided their names, Khorshid, and Rostam.

Now I wanted to go to bed. I brushed my teeth, put on my pajamas,
then got into bed. My mom put the cats in their cat bed, because they
were also tired, but they wanted to sleep with me. After countless
times of trying to put them in their cat bed, they would not budge. In
the end, they ended up sleeping right next to me. They started to lick
me on the nose, then they purred, and they needed on me. I woke
up the next day, with cats in my face, petting me with their paws to
wake me up, and play. I got up, gave them their food, and then we
started to play. After half an hour, my sister came home.

Leylis  friend, Grace, came to see them. Once Leyli got upstairs, she
was all over them, giving them hugs, kisses, and playing with them.
She loved them like I did. I think she forgot to say hi to me after a few
minutes, until I said hi. The cats would keep meowing, and meowing,
as if they were begging us to play with them. At the end of the day,
Khorshid went to go sleep with Leyli, and Rostam slept with me.
When I was reading, Rostam kept climbing up my arm and down, up
my arm and down, again and again until he was tired. He coiled right
next to me on my pillow, and then he started to purr. I could not wait
to spend Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, and all of the
holidays with them. I could not wait to play, cuddle, and be lazy with
them. I just could not wait to be with them all day, every day. Every
day when I came home from school, they would run to greet me in
the kitchen. I could not wait to spend every day with my furry friends.

The Salem Witch Trials

Imagine you are a regular girl in colonial America living in the village of
Salem Massachusetts, Bay Colony, the next day you wake up feeling a
little irregular. A while after breakfast you start acting odd, your body
shutters, twists, and shakes like crazy. Your mother rushes to your aid but
she can’t help you. You start asking for help and complain that someone
is pinching you, but no one is there. Soon after your mother or father gets
news that more girls are going crazy. Now stop imagining it. What if I told
you that actually happened? Well it did. The colony not just had to go
through this they had to do trials and sentenced punishments to anyone
that was guilty using witchcraft at that time. In the long process they
manage to kill 20 people and 2 dog accused of using witchcraft. I will be
teaching about The trials, 2 girls who caught the fits,  punishments the
witches would get sentenced to, and The possible sickness the girls might
have caught.
Who were Abigail and Betty?
On a freezing day in the month of January 1962 Betty Paris began acting out.
She started by flapping her arms and spinning around. She would either
screamed or didn't talk at all. Days after her cousin Abigail caught  the same
sickness. The parents checked for unusual temperatures but neither seemed
to have had any of the sicknesses they knew of such as, smallpox, measles, or
malaria. Surprisingly, Betty’s had a brother and a sister but neither caught this
sickness. Betty’s parents tried everything, but nothing worked no one could help
them, all they could do is wait and pray.
In late February it got worse. Both Abigail, and Betty acted even worse.
They rolled around in bed gasping for air like they were being choked. Soon a
doctor named William Griggs come to observe the children's odd behaviors.
The doctor finally announced that both girls were “under an evil hand”. Sooner
than later the whole colony knew  about the witches in Salem. Now the question
was, What will Salem do about this?

Punishments

Imagine standing near a warm fire. Now Imagine standing in the fire.
Hot right well that's what they did in Salem! If you were ever caught a “witch”
you would be put to punished by being hanged, being burned to death, being
drowned in a river, or be put on the witches cradle. The witches cradle worked by
putting a sack over the witch's head then you tie them upside down on a tree. You
and someone else would swing the witch back and forth. This was used to cause
hallucinations. Punishments in the Trials were cruel and unfair. Some
punishments were just tests to see if you  are a witch. Even though they were
tests it still would kill the suspect. If I was punished like that I would be pretty
frustrated.

TRIALS

As more and more people were accused of using witchcraft, the jail cells began
to overflow. So on May 27, governor William Phips decided to build a special
court for the town of Salem. The court was meant to lessen the amount of
witches in the cells. These were done with three quick trials if you were pleaded
guilty every time trial, you would receive a death sentence. Trials were not
funny they were serious and speedy. The judges usually had no patience
for you and would be very rapid with their decisions.

Rye Fungus

Rye fungus also known as the Ergot fungus was almost clearly what the girls of
Salem got. This fungus is grows on Rye related plants such as wheat, triticale,
and barley. These plants produce alkaloids that can cause ergotism in
mammals and humans who eat and consume the fungus. This fungus grows
still on wheat and grains and is most likely what the girls of Salem caught. I
think this because, there was lots of bread being baked and eaten at that time
and is most likely why the girls acted out so odd. The symptoms of this fungus
actually has two different symptoms one is called the convulsive symptom
(which the girls most likely had) and the second which is called gangrenous
ergotism symptoms.

The Convulsive symptoms are twisting, shaking, and trembling. You will
also have body pains such as muscle spasms.
The Gangrenous ergotism symptoms are loss of toes, fingers, ear lobes
and in a more serious case of Gangrenous, loss of  legs and arms.

In conclusion, After all these facts and knowledge shared among millions of
people we still can’t figure out why this started and why it spread. While the
trials and Punishments helped much to stop witchcraft it soon lead to closing
the court. After seeing and researching on the girls they seem to have
something with a fungus called “Rye fungus”  But the thing is why was this
happening with only with women. So what really happened?

The Boston Massacre

Introduction
John Adams once said that “Facts are stubborn things; and
whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our
passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” He
said this because he was defending the British soldiers. The soldiers
who were involved in the incident were arrested. The soldiers said
that they will kill people. There was more than one incident that lead
to the Boston Massacre. Loud cries and screaming were heard on king
street and then gunshots came. People lie on the ground dead.

Chapter one: What lead up to the Boston Massacre?

In Boston there was a law that caused a lot of trouble. The law said
that soldiers could live in people's houses in a time of peace. They
said this was supposed  to keep more people safe. But this law caused
fights between the people and the soldiers.

A little after 9 o'clock on March 5, 1770 four young men, named
Edward Archbald, William Merchant, Francis Archbald, and John
Leech Jr, came down cornhill together. One of the soldiers was
swinging one of his swords against a wall. Probably he got bored after
a while.  There were tons of sparks from the sword. A mean looking
soldier with a large club stood next to him. Edward archbald warned
Mr. merchant to watch out for the sword so he wouldn't get hurt.
Just then the soldier turned around and cut Archbald on the arm and
then stabbed at Merchant. Merchant hit the soldier with a short
stick. The other soldier got 2 more soldiers. The soldiers chased
after Archbald back through the alley. They got to him and whacked him over the head.

The noise brought people to the streets. John hicks, a young boy,
knocked the soldier down, but let him get up.A large crowd of boys
went over the 2 soldiers and pushed them over. In less than a minute,
10-12 soldiers came with sword and clubs. They attacked the
unarmed boys. Samuel Atwood heard the noise and came to see what
was the matter. Can you imagine seeing soldiers attacking unarmed
boys, well I guess if you were around during the Boston Massacre you
would have saw it. As the boys are being chased away, Samuel Altwood
caught up with the soldiers and he said “are you going to kill people?”
They answered YES! You might think that the soldiers might have
been hurting people not killing people, but actually they said they will
kill people.

Chapter two: The event

There were loud noise and loud cries on the on King street. There
were over 50 colonists at the scene. Captain Thomas Preston,  a local
British officer, sent soldiers to the custom house to maintain order.
The soldiers had rifles. The soldiers pointed the rifles and told
people to go home. They still kept pushing people away. Then, they
stabbed some with knives at the end of their rifles. This caused loud
shouting. I think if you stab someone there would be shouting
because you could have killed them. They began daring the soldiers to
fire. Some boys started throwing snowballs. The captain ordered the
soldiers to shoot. The boys kept throwing snowballs. One struck one
of the soldiers, Private Montgomery. That knocked him down and he
shot into the crowd. Then after a few seconds of stunned silence. A
man rushed forward to knock the gun from one the soldiers hands..
He went to hit the caption with his club. All the other soldiers shot
into the crowd as well. Three men were killed immediately and two
died later. More people were injured trying to carry the dead and
wounded. I think that if the boys didn’t start throwing snowballs at
the soldiers then people wouldn’t have been dead. Mr Benjamin Leigh,
a manager at a factory, was able to make the soldiers stop shooting.

Chapter Three: The cause

A lot of people died, or got injured. Five people died and three got
badly injured. The dead were. Mr. Samuel Gray, Crispus Attucks,
Mr. James Caldwell, Mr Samuel Maverick, was learning to be a
dice-maker, he died the next morning, and Mr. Patrick Carr, about
thirty years old, worked at a leather pants maker in Queen street died
two weeks later. Crispus Attucks was a runaway slave and the first to
die in the Boston Massacre. Six people were injured. The soldiers
were ordered back to their barracks. They went to where they live
around one o'clock, and at three o’clock Captain Preston was arrested.
Over the next five years, the colonists kept their rebellion and they
started the Boston Tea Party, put together the first Continental
Congress, and started the American Revolution. Everyone who died in
the Boston Massacre were the first people to die in the American
Revolution because the Boston Massacre was the first event in the
American Revolution.

Conclusion
Loud noises and screaming brought people to the streets to see what
was going on. Maybe if the four people weren't out on the streets
the soldiers wouldn’t have saw them, which wouldn’t have caused loud
noise. There were a lot of people at the scene. People were throwing
stuff at the soldiers which caused gunshots. Now you heard all about
the Boston Massacre, this makes me think that if all this didn’t
happen there may have been no American Revolution?
